ISBEID

The Indian State Level Basic Environment Information Database (ISBEID) has been developed to facilitate ENVIS Centres to collect, collate, maintain and disseminate the information related to environment. It has a web interface for data input by the State ENVIS Centres.

The software would enable State ENVIS Centres to feed data directly into the database server using web interface through ENVIS portal. This will reduce time to put data online and also make faster and accurate access to data by the end users.

Data from the Blocks, Districts and Cities level on the following parameters are fed to the website : " Administrative Profile, Hazardous Waste, Ecology, Agriculture, Ground Water, Bio-Diversity, Health, Climate, Industry, Demography, Infrastructure, Economics, Institutional Framework, Environment, Natural Resources, Energy, Tourism, Forest Resources, Surface Water, Air Pollution, Water Pollution, Disaster Management & Waste Disposal.

The Potential end users of this database are Ministry of Environment & Forests, ENVIS Centres, Policy & Decision Makers, Researchers, NGOs, Urban Planners & the likes.
